Loved that we encircled the island. so much we did not know regarding the structures. The guide spoke clearly and the sound system was excellent, inside and outside. He was also personal, walking throughout the boat, taking questions. I did feel that in the beginning, there was too much detail, with continuous talk. Would have liked a few minutes of silence between explanations to speak with those on the boat with me as we had just begun the tour and were taking it all in, getting settled, etc. The snack exceeded expectations, service was very good!

Having lived in and near New York since 1970 it was very interesting to hear about buildings I had seen over the years but knew little or nothing about them. Plus there is much history on the tour about NY in addition to the structures – a fascinating trip we will take again.

We’ve done a ton of different water tours. We’ve also done the free Staten Island ferry and of course the Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island ferries a bunch of times. The boat is gorgeous, it is comfortable, and the narrator was super knowledgeable. It was not crowded at all and while my husband and I were dissapointed at first that we weren’t able to get an outdoor seat, once we settled in we were actually so glad. It was a gorgeous and hot day and the inside was spacious with those windows everywhere (it was like a large floating sunroom with the transom windows and glass ceiling). We could see everything perfectly. It was a 2.75 hour tour and I could have done it again immediately upon returning. The crew were awesome. I will do it again when I return.

There is no better way to spend time than on the Manhattan II. The AIA guides are articulate. The boat’s crew is very nice. Comfortable and informative and fun! I’ve taken visitors and locals, ages 12-82 and all have had a great time !

As an architecture enthusiast, this was an insightful and fantastic tour. The tour guide, a NYC native and NYC architect, knew his stuff and was able to give both historical and architectural information. Circling the island of Manhattan via boat not only afforded views you don’t get when walking but allowed views of other islands and burroughs. Well worth the time and money. Highly recommended!

I visited my lady friend over the weekend and I wanted to do a river cruise. I’d taken part in one several years ago with a corporate function on one of the large ships. I wanted this cruise to be more intimate so when I saw the Sunset Cruises you offered I was sure this was the type of vessel I wanted to take her on. The ambiance aboard was terrific. The small number of people on board was just what I was looking for. The staff was very pleasant and attentive. We shared a bottle of the New York Pinot Noir and it was delicious. The setting sun cast incredible light off the Manhattan skyline and silhouetted Ellis Island and Lady Liberty providing for some very nice photos. A very memorable evening for sure. The Manhattan II and sister vessel Manhattan are a great option for small groups, 2 – 12, wanting to have a more relaxed and casual setting for a river cruise around the southern end of Manhattan. I will recommend any of the trips offered on either The Manhattan or Manhattan II to anyone I know that is visiting New York. It’s a great value and in my opinion no better way to see the city skyline from the water.

If you’re ever in New York City for Christmas, you absolutely *have* to take the Cocoa and Carols cruise. My girlfriend and I booked this for the final evening of our Christmas holiday to the city and I can only describe it as magical. The classic harbour line boat was beautiful and combined with the festive lights and decorations set a romantic ambiance I’d say would be hard to beat – even in New York. NYC Skyline visible from the boat… wow. Although different than the view you’d get from the Empire State Building or Top of the Rock, the city is truly stunning from the water. With just the right amount of people on the boat to keep it intimate and with fantastic hospitality staff, I cannot recommend anything more strongly if you’re going to NYC for Christmas. Wonderfully romantic, ridiculously festive and great fun whether your taking your family, your girlfriend or even just yourself! You’d be daft to miss out.

Definitely one of the highlights of our trip! Rivalling a private walking tour and helicopter tour. The cruise was perfect for viewing the city lit up at night and a great up close view of the statue of liberty. Perfect! The complimentary champagne when we set off was a great start, the music, cookies and cocoa made us all feel very festive. On our 2nd drink we opted for a shot of peppermint schnapps in our cocoa (additional cost) which was great to warm up after braving the cold on the deck to view the city lit up at night-breathtaking!! Highly recommend! Do not visit NYC at Christmas without doing this.

I would definitely recommend Classic Harbor Line for a cruise to see NYC from the water. Rather than being “herded” into one of the large tourist boats, this small boat experience is a refreshing relief from the somewhat hectic NYC street experience. My entire family including teenager and young child said it was “the best thing” we did while in New York over the Christmas Holiday.

This has to be the best way to get a handle on this fabulous city! The boat was comfortable, the food more than adequate and tasty, and the commentary informative. You get to see all the landmarks and understand the geography and location of terms and places such as Uptown and Downtown the Financial District and Harlem. This was made even easier by the map provided … even if the landmark photographs were a little small. Simple reason why: There are an awful lot of them, each almost equally important. And, being a “boatie” from way back Manhattan II was far better (and cleaner) than the crowded cruise ferries many use.

This is the tour to take. It’s calming and refreshing. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and didn’t overwhelm you with information or talk the entire time. Classic Harbor Line’s “America 2.0” sunset cruise is as good as it gets in NYC. I took my 99 year old Dad, who is sharp as a tack, relatively mobile (uses a cane), and until a few years ago owned a 42-foot sloop that he sailed single-hand in the Gulf of Mexico. The crew was fantastic and the captain graciously allowed my Dad to take the helm, which even for a 99-year-old old salt, was a thrill and certainly one of the biggest highlights of the last several years. The “bottomless” bottles of rose didn’t hurt the mood either. If you are remotely interested in sailing, don’t miss this one!!!!

It was a beautiful day for a sail. Once we motored out in the harbor the crew raised the sails and we sailed to the Statue of Liberty. I bought this trip for myself and my wife for the expected views of NYC, but was gladly surprised at the festive feeling the trip delivered. As expected the NYC sights at sunset were breathtaking (so was the air temperature too mind!!) but the atmosphere on board made the trip A+ recommendation of things to do in NYC. You can drink as much cocoa and eat as many cookies as you wish and your given your first alcoholic drink free. If you do wish to brave the cold and sit outside then blankets are provided. The trip lasts 90mins and takes in all the river views of NYC and even stops just next to Liberty Island for a 5-10min photo opportunity. We’ll both HIGHLY recommend this trip for anyone that wishes to have a bit of festive cheer/sanctuary during the madness of Christmas in NYC.

This was a socialising event I organized on the spur of the moment from the UK for three work colleagues and our partners coming to a New York for a wedding of an ex colleague. This was first time in New York for most of the people and it turned out that this activity was a perfect relaxation from the usual hectic tourist chase round Manhattan. The motor yachts old time design; it’s compact size but still with good room on deck and a spacious, comfotable saloon were really appreciated The foligage was beautiful; the weather was kind to us and we were all pleasantly suprised by both the quality and selection of the food. The trip length was probably perfect for most people though personally I’d really love to do the longer trip further up the Hudson if the opportunity ever arises.

We went on the brunch cruise to celebrate my son’s 30th. There were 6 of us and we had a ball. The boat itself was great in that it had lots of glass and openess. I admit when I first saw the yacht I was a little disappointed at how small it looked, but once we boarded and started the cruise the disappointment went away. I have taken this boat ride many times (at different times of the day) and every time is wonderful. The captain is very friendly, the staff are very hospitable and the boat is simply beautiful. There is nothing quite like it when the engine is turned off and the sails are raised and you are swiftly sailing by the busy city. I highly recommend it as a before dinner activity or something unique and memorable to do with friends from out of town. Four of us went on the 9:30 pm City Lights Sail on America 2.0 and I can’t say enough great things about it! The boat is incredible and the staff sailing it were a lot of fun, and did a great job sailing us around to get the best views of the city and the Statue of Liberty. We lucked out and had amazing weather – enough wind to actually sail and not use the motor – which made for such a memorable experience. We were in NY for the weekend for my mom’s birthday, and this was the highlight of the trip! I would highly recommend this cruise, and this boat in particular, especially if you enjoy being out on the water!

One is paying top dollar to escape the 1.5+ million-strong crowd crammed on to the river bank – and it’s worth it! The luxury of arriving less than an hour before sail time and having a (mostly) uninterrupted view of the pyrotechnics would be a pleasant experience in and of itself, but Classic Harbor Line knows how to plus the experience well. I was particularly impressed with the staff – a knowledgeable crew member effortlessly fielded my questions over the phone ahead of time (without any sales pressure), and another called me the day before to make sure I knew about the special security procedures for Chelsea Piers on sail day. On board, the crew were attentive and focused – primarily on making sure we had a good view (Captain did an awesome job holding steady in position for the 25-minute show), but also that we were fed and watered throughout. Hors d’oeuvres definitely exceeded typical harbor cruise expectations (freshly prepared and tasty). And the post-show city lights cruise down to the Statue of Liberty was a perfect way to pass the time until the piers reopened for docking. Highly recommended, and going to be my first choice for future NYC July 4th visits.

While it was a cold Valentine’s Day, the Champagne tasting cruise was a lot of fun. The crew was friendly and the boat has great views from inside, plenty of cabin room and deck space. The shared tables and intimate size of the boat makes it easy to interact with other passengers. The captain gave an informative commentary on some of the key sites along the route. I found the Classic Harbor Line via Google, and I am so glad I did!! We had so much fun sailing around Manhattan! The food was delicious, and the Captain and crew were wonderful. I was also very glad that there were not a ton of people like many of the harbor cruises. There were about 40 people on the boat, and it was perfect.
