Imagine a beautiful boat and the crew superb, very friendly and capable. We took the 4th of July trip to see the fireworks and were impressed with the navigation skills of the captain when the harbor was so crowed with boats! We had a nice trip and the view of the skyline magnificent.

The fireworks were spectacular, as was the crew. It was a magical night for me and my family as we sailed for an hour afterward towards the Statue of Liberty and back. If you like New York as we do, it’s a breathtaking experience all around.

One is paying top dollar to escape the 1.5+ million-strong crowd crammed on to the river bank – and it’s worth it! The luxury of arriving less than an hour before sail time and having a (mostly) uninterrupted view of the pyrotechnics would be a pleasant experience in and of itself, but Classic Harbor Line knows how to plus the experience well. I was particularly impressed with the staff – a knowledgeable crew member effortlessly fielded my questions over the phone ahead of time (without any sales pressure), and another called me the day before to make sure I knew about the special security procedures for Chelsea Piers on sail day. On board, the crew were attentive and focused – primarily on making sure we had a good view (Captain did an awesome job holding steady in position for the 25-minute show), but also that we were fed and watered throughout. Hors d’oeuvres definitely exceeded typical harbor cruise expectations (freshly prepared and tasty). And the post-show city lights cruise down to the Statue of Liberty was a perfect way to pass the time until the piers reopened for docking. Highly recommended, and going to be my first choice for future NYC July 4th visits.

Being from out of town we asked everyone we met, “What the best way to see the 4th of July fireworks in NYC?”. Much to our dismay we never really got a definitive answer. Not sure if people didn’t want to make the crowd worse in their spot or what but come July 3rd we were still not sure what to do. While the cruises are expensive they are worth every penny! The staff is ever so attentive and the view is phenomenal! Best money we’ve ever spent in NYC! Thanks so much for an incredible 4th of July! We will definitely recommend this to family and friends. Hope to be back next year!”
